Some history on the A & P Warehouse taken from The Arena District: A Neighborhood 170 Years in the Making

The A & P Warehouse building, once known as the Great Atlantic & Pacific Tea Company was a formidable force in the local grocery business, competing with giants such as Kroger and Big Bear from the late 1800s through 1978. To service its growing store base A & P opened this grocery warehouse at Neil Avenue and Spring Street in 1926. After A & P ceased its Ohio operations, the warehouse served as a general storage facility most recently for commercial baking equipment, before breathing new life as urban and industrial condominiums
